About us

Our intention:

We have been friends for many years. As it was the case with many people in Turkey, so political hardships and painful experiences have also brought us together. Not to lose hope and to know there is the possibility of another world have kept our friendship continuously together. The documentary film Children of September, which we wanted to make for many years, is not the result of our voyeurism that is interested in other people’s life, but it is the story of those who until today could not tell their experiences. Here the children of this autumn make their voices heard. They were the children who on an autumn day woke up to the noise of military boots which changed their lives to an uncertain future. For this reason we called our film company Payiz Film. Because with its melodic sound of the Zaza language the word “payiz” (autumn) is an expression which in spite of those painful experiences calls upon us all to fight against injustice.

Hülya Karcı:

Studied drama at Dokuz Eylül University (Izmir). Works in Berlin and Turkey as a dramaturge and theatre pedagogue. She writes and directs for the theatre and film.

 

Nihat Kentel:

He graduated from the Boğaziçi University (Istanbul) in economics. Now he lives in Berlin working in the film sector and trading electrical equipment for the production of video movies.

 

Meltem Öztürk:

She is a graduate from the Dokuz Eylül University (Izmir) in film studies. She lives in Paris working in the film sector and is reading philosophy.

 

Deniz Keskin:

He graduated from the Dokuz Eylül University (Izmir) studying arts of traditional turkish crafts and ornamentics. Now he is studying print and motion graphics (Communication Design) at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam.
